STEPS TAKEN TO FAILURE, GLORY AND GRACE

Image
Everything starts from somewhere, including ourselves. Where and when we were born, how we were brought up, the things we've learned and pickup, the things we've done and regretted, and even the paths that we've chosen or has been laid down for us. Regardless of everything, it starts from somewhere, when we decide to do something beyond our capabilities, or to enter territories that are unknown to us only to find out that that is where we belong. As I wrote this, I began thinking about the many things I’ve gone through in my life up till now. Though not many, it has led me to believe that I’ve gone through a sufficient amount of challenges to bring forth this topic. The 3 major steps I’ve taken through the course of my life are the steps of failure, glory and grace.            I shall start with failure and I shall start with this because not all of us have a good start; I for one am such a person. The climbing of these stairs are very uneven. My s

FICKLE MIND, FICKLE HEART

Logic and emotions, an unending conflict between these has been present ever since we’ve been able to think for ourselves. This particularly occurs when we partake in various events in our life where we decide on whether we would let our minds or hearts take control over us which in turn influences the decisions we make. In fact, the mind and the heart tend to contradict with each other most of the time and the result of it is a dilemma. Our actions serve either one of these masters as we would desire something but we do not feel that way at the same time.       When you’re faced with a situation that requires you to act in order to progress, your mind would start to think of the consequences of your actions and you’d start to doubt yourself. Your mind would tell you there a zero percent chance of something happening out of your actions, but here is where things start to get interesting. Even if your mind would tell you that, your emotions, or rather, your heart

FRAGMENTS OF SILVER

The moon’s beauty and light attracts many things,  but beauty always attracts one thing, the opposite of it.  -The Rites Prologue Descending My name is Fred, Freddrick Falcifer.        The scent of the woods creep in as night approaches, I could barely feel my feet as I ran across the plain aimlessly; the horrid stench of carcasses dug its way into my nostrils as i entered in to the forest. I caught my breath calmly as I came to a halt and rested my body on a tree and ripping out my left sleeve right after. Then I searched nearby for a stick or some sort like it. It’s a forest, what else would you expect to find besides sticks and stones and…creatures of the night?    “Found one” I whispered. Darkness was upon me before I knew it. I wrapped the piece of cloth I torn out earlier on the tip of the stick and lighted it with a match.     “Bloody hell, I swear Cocytus isn’t as cold as this”, I complained as it was freezing cold at

THE MAN AND THE WOMAN

Image
A man, wounded by his past, yet he seeks not the world he had once lost. Struggling, with the voices within him, telling him what is wrong, what is right, what should and shouldn't be done, as if it was acting purely on instinct. The wretched soul cries out for salvation, nobody listens; the world is deaf to the soul. The man, not knowing himself as he should, walks the path he hath chosen, without complain, without sorrow. Happiness was but a miracle to him. He ventured forth without hesitation, hoping he would not meet the fate he had previously met. Every day was just another day, but then he saw her, a glimpse he took and could never take back, for he could not look away. She was near perfection. As he approached her, she gave him a smile, a smile that was bright enough to lift the weight of his heart, and without the realizing it, he had forgotten what it was like to be lonely. They shared a common trait, only those of the same could identify. They talked a
