Chapter 2 Fire        I was running, panting, I can’t remember what I was running away from, but my instincts told me to keep running. Everything was being swallowed up by a force, a force so great, I’ve never felt so much fear before this. Everything was dark. I couldn’t run anymore. My legs can’t move. I was standing in an empty plane of darkness as a figure emerges from it. It looked human, almost animal, but not quite of either and had eyes that were blazing. It lunged towards me at full force, teeth and claws were visible from its deformed shape. Snap. “ Gasps! ”       Sweat poured out from my body that was shaking in fear, it wasn’t the first time I had such a dream, or a nightmare as how I’d prefer to put it. (Oh boy, here comes an another self-expressive story about love, I really need to stop doing this)    No, this writing will not be about me being bitten by a mosquito or any sort like it. Apparently, it’s an expression of saying that you’ve fallen in love. I can’t say that I’m a stranger to that sort of feeling and I’m more than sure it happens once in a while for everyone. Well I’m not sure about when this started occurring but one thing for sure is that I’ve locked these feelings away for a very long time. Maybe it’s been a while since I’ve done anything or met anyone who has made me feel this way.     Incompetency, irrationality, negativity are things that distorts the progress of improvising on matters that are substantial from the growth of our mind, personality and self-caused confidence. The one thing I cannot ever stand is that some people think or they sufficiently believe that they're old enough to know everything, and whatever you tell them is wrong to them. I mean sure, maybe from one aspect you're better in certain things, but from different aspects, you're no better than a person who doesn't have a single inkling about what’s going on. I digress with the fact that some adults think that they've been through enough to know everything and that they needn't have to learn from younger adults about certain things. It doesn't mean that they should stop learning or push away other suggestions just because they think they already know everything.              Let’s be honest, the word responsibilities itself sounds like a burden to many of us. I was recently pondering about this as I came across many incidents that occurred due to irresponsibility. Throughout my entire life, I was taught and brought up in a way that responsibility is prioritized over everything else, that it holds so much weight and battering consequences follow if we do not fulfill those responsibilities. It goes beyond love, emotions of any sort and so on. I might start to sound like a robot but think it this way, whatever that we do in life, we are accountable for our actions, be it in a position that we take up, or participating in important things that would affect us in a way that we can’t ever imagine. Most notable responsibilities are the ones where we have to get something done before a dateline, be it work or studies. Other responsibilities would include family related ones and so on.   ...
